This Tuesday: A Creative Life with Dr. Nick Wirtz at Problem Library

Join us this Tuesday for A Creative Life with Dr. Nick Wirtz.

Our speaker series, A Creative Life, returns this coming Tuesday, July 15th, with an open conversation and lecture on the art of healing with teacher, surfer, and chiropractor Dr. Nick Wirtz.

As the owner of Holistic Adjustments (on Judah St. next to Damn Fine Coffee & Case for Making), Dr. Nick has spent the past decade exploring health and healing in the human body. As a chiropractor, he sees his work as an art, a science, and a philosophy that defines health as harmony with your nature.

Harmony, in this view, isn’t a formula. It’s a rhythm, a dynamic relationship between body and world. For Dr. Nick, learning to follow that rhythm has meant noticing ease, trusting it, and letting go of control in search of something deeper. In that surrender, we can find what we may never have imagined: the gift of health.

Come be with us for a thoughtful evening with Dr. Nick, exploring healing, harmony, and the possibility of living in better rhythm with ourselves and the world around us.

A generous Summer

Over the remaining weeks of summer, we’re gathering around a constellation of moments shaped by our theme—This, too, is a gift. These include an evening of tea and ethereal music with Noah Solt and friends; a screening of the only video interview of the enigmatic Clarice Lispector; an exploration of movement with our very own Tamara Chu for A Creative Life #005; watching a delightful interview with David Hockney, conducted by the legendary Huell Howser; a presentation on Sustainable Ambition with author and neighbor Kathy Oneto; and the fifth iteration of our beloved Too Much Information.

In parallel, we’ve been facilitating the summer session of The School of Other Fields, with a gifted cohort of young artists and an exceptional group of mentors: Danica, Elliot, Jess, Noah, and Tamara. Our young artists will present their final projects at a closing show on Saturday, August 16 from 4–7pm. We’ll send a formal announcement later this month, but we invite you to save the date.

If you’re curious about The School of Other Fields, our events, or ways to connect more deeply with the work of Problem Library, we’d love to hear from you. We’re beginning to plan for fall and are especially eager to meet potential mentors and collaborators.

We hope to see you over the coming weeks—for inspiring screenings, lovingly offered talks, and joyful gatherings. You can explore the full list of events on the Problem Library website.

See you soon.
