12:00 PM | Start the day reading, journaling, or in quiet reflection while Kia Kimera (Danny Jones) offers up an ambient DJ set
1:15 PM | Caroline Yunny Lu will guide us in an open conversation and reflection on the gifts we have received, those we have to offer, and the beauty that unfolds when we recognize and share that which is ours alone to give
2:30 PM | Gift exchange N°1: Bring an object to offer a fellow TMI attendee. We’ll swap objects three times throughout the day. Bring just one object.
2:45 PM | Sofia and Daniel will guide a shared conversation on chapter 2 of Georges Perec’s An Attempt at Exhausting a Place in Paris. The text will be provided upon entry (or you can find it on our website ahead of time, if you like homework.
3:45 PM | Gift exchange Nº2
4:00 PM | With guitar in hand, Noah will tell us a tale in two parts.
4:15 PM | Make a postcard for a friend, family member, or acquaintance and the TMI crew will mail it for you. We’ll have materials for collaging, watercoloring, and other things for mark making.
4:45 PM | Noah will finish his tale.
5:00 PM | Gift exchange Nº3
5:15 PM | You, Alice, and Nico of The Conviviality Cohort will lead a discussion on the gifts we’ve received over the course of the day and the schedule of events the cohort is creating for the fall.
6:00 PM | With TMI #5 marking the end of another season of programming, Daniel will reflect on this summer’s theme of This, too, is a gift, share lessons we learned, and preview what is to come for next season.
6:15 PM | Your ticket includes a communal dinner with vegetarian and gluten-free options. Food will be provided by Sunrise Deli, a local mediterranean restaurant.
7:00 PM | Wrap the day socializing, reflecting on the gifts you’ve received—during the day or throughout your life. What might unfold if we choose to see all parts of our lives as gifts?
