Join us tonight for: In No Particular Order

In No Particular Order opening reception tonight from 7pm–10pm

Join us for the opening of In No Particular Order, a group show of paintings by three young San Francisco-based artists: Alice Barreras, Nico Lown Heitz, and Sofi Criswell.

Each artist explores myths, relationships, and stories as they make sense of the world on their own terms. All three use painting as a form of play and as a way to make tangible artifacts that give shape to a shared understanding of the world as it’s unfolding.

While their styles are distinct, common threads clearly emerge. Hung salon-style, the works come together into an eclectic, playful, and energetic showing of over 45 paintings.

As a collection, the works on view are as much about growing up as they are about growing aware. The show’s title reflects their artistic process and the way growth and learning happen: in waves, phases, and no particular order.

Over this year the trio have been part of The Conviviality Cohort, a working group inside Problem Library experimenting with hospitality, care, and public engagement. This cohort is our first engagement with Alice and Nico, but many of you will remember that Sofia has been with us since 2022 when she was a summer intern for Problem Children.

We’re thrilled to support these exceptionally talented emerging artists who have come to be an integral part of our community.

We hope to see you there.
