We named these gatherings after the historical act of barn raising, where communities joined forces to build a barn for one of their neighbors in a single day. Watch this short documentary to learn more.
These raisings were pillars for social life in the community, often ending in food, drink, and dance celebrating the hard work of the day. We thought this spoke to the spirit of what we aim toward at Problem Library: using our collective talents to create long-lasting structures through which all of us can thrive.
Building something beneficial and lasting doesn’t happen in a single day, or at the hand of one person, but over the course of many small moments of connection; happenstance conversations that allow ideas to be born, shaped, and realized.
We offer these Sunday gatherings as consistent containers for these moments to happen, and look forward to bringing them to life with you. |
