Inner Sunset Art Walk with Megan, Sofia, Jayne & Regina

As part of the Inner Sunset Fall Equinox Art Walk, we’re opening the studio for a quiet Friday evening with four artists showing new work at Problem Library: Megan Broughton, Sofia Criswell, Jayne Foster, and Regina Stadnik.

This informal gathering offers a preview of the weekend ahead, when the studio will be open to the public as part of San Francisco Open Studios. We’re glad to participate by inviting neighbors, friends, and visitors in for an early look.

The artists will be present to share about their work. We’ll have music playing, tea brewing, and space to linger. Whether you’re stopping in on your way down the block or settling in for the evening, we look forward to welcoming you.

About the artists

This evening is a preview party for Problem Library’s participation in the citywide SF Open Studios weekend. The group show was curated and organized by Sofia Criswell (an alumni of The School of Other Fields) and long-time arts educator Megan Broughton. The two artists invited two more artists to join them: Jayne Foster and Regina Stadnik.

Megan Broughton is a multidisciplinary artist based in San Francisco, CA, addressing the climate crisis, loss, transformation, and the sublime. She uses ice, fog, and air currents to underline our daily environments at risk. Her work stems from onsite study in the Arctic, whose materiality shapes and influences her practice.

Sofia Criswell is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in San Francisco, with a background in design, curriculum development, and cultural organizing.

Jayne Foster work typically embraces strong colours, evocative forms and often conflicting elements of pattern and texture to create unique interpretive compositions.

Regina Stadnik uses the soft tactile quality of quilts to explore the themes of shelter and security. Her work, often in muted colors, depicts interiors and cityscapes imbued with longing and hope.
